The Rise of Facebook

The LA Times has a great article about Facebook's meteoric rise, and how it's becoming a more coveted place to work than even Google. Of course, their pre-IPO status doesn't hurt. Facebook, intentionally or not, captures more behavior, tastes, and trends then any focus group or marketing study could ever dream. This power is their ticket to riches. $Money$ quote:

Microsoft Corp. last month took a small stake in Facebook that valued the company at $15 billion. The deal may have positioned Facebook's 23-year-old co-founder and chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, to one day supplant Google co-founder Sergey Brin as the technology industry's youngest self-made billionaire.
